Pastor Renee James-Simon’s body succumbed to a prolonged battle with illness on Friday, March 15, 2024. It is with great sadness and immeasurable gratitude that we celebrate her remarkable life and passing.  The spirit and love that flowed through Renee will be felt by all who knew her. Most of her life was spent between the cities of New Orleans and Franklinton, Louisiana. She was certified as a chaplain and also held two Masters degrees: one in psychology and counseling,  and one in divinity. She was a pastor of  Unconditional Love Ministries and focused on working and mentoring the youth in her community. She is survived by her children Simone Immanuel, Isaiah Simon, and Isaac Simon;  three grandchildren;  sisters, Treana Burton (Esco) and Barbara James; brothers, Garian James (Aloma), Waltress James-Thompson (Michelle), Darryl James, and Gregory James. She also wished to honor her four children who she loved as her own, Keosha, Lydia, Quincy and Larriona. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ada Mae Horton and Bobby Ray James; and her husband, Anthony Simon. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers of the aforementioned churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, March 23, 2024 beginning 10:00 a.m. at Christian Unity Baptist Church, 1700 Conti Street, Rev.
