Prentis “Putty” Anthony Ronquillo Sr., born on November 12, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on April 17, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Shandra Ronquillo, with whom he shared 26 years of love. During his life, he gave birth to five loving children: Ingrid Washington (Kevin), Rhonda Adams, Prentis “Lil Putt” Ronquillo Jr. (preceded in death), Brent Ronquillo, and Denzel Hampton. He also lovingly cherished his stepchildren—Keirra Mitchell, Daurielle Miller, Alex Ronquillo, and Alexis Ronquillo. Prentis will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, Victor “Good Lookin”, Sandra, Alfred “Mumu”, Ronald, and Rhonda, as well as by a host of grandchildren and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Perez; his father, Leo Ronquillo; his stepfather, Leroy Perez; and his siblings Anthony “Dougie”, Diana, Cherlene, Norma, David, Leo, Donald “Peanut”, and Lisa. Prentis graduated from Marion Abramson Senior High School in 1982. Following high school, he attended Delgado Community College. He was a dedicated employee of Terese’s Top Works Inc., where he proudly served for more than 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and cheering on his favorite teams, the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans. Prentis’ legacy is one of love, laughter, and genuine care for everyone he encountered. He will be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest and loved just as deeply. His influence lives on through the people he helped shape and the many lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, at St. James Methodist Church, 1925 Ursulines Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Deljuane Mitchell officiating. Visitation at the church will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Private burial. Repass will be held at the Luxury Hall, 9301 Lake Forrest Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70127, beginning at 12:00 p.m. All guests are invited to attend.
