Dawanna Jones

On February 9, 1992, Dawanna "Buda" Jones was the blessed gift to Glenda Jones and Rodney Stanback, Jr. in Los Angeles, Ca. She was educated in the New Orleans Parish School system. Dawanna joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she confessed Christ to be her Lord and Savior. "Buda" as her family and friends lovingly referred to her was a source of laughter, fun, constant comforter and always a joy to be around. Her most beloved achievements in life were her children, who undoubtedly will miss their mother. From a young age, Buda showcased a talent and love for make-up and hair styling. This blossomed into a lifelong passion solidifying her as a personal stylist to family and friends. Her contagious smile will live on within her family forever. On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, God gracefully opened his arms and welcomed our beloved Dawanna home into enteral rest. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her son Tarrell Phillips, daughter Khy Franklin, mother Glenda Jones, two brothers-Rodney Stanback, Jr., Marcell London, Jr., three nieces London Brooks, Ta'Mya London, Ryleigh Stanback, one nephew Malachi London, two aunts Kellikioca and Rosalind Jones also survived by a host of relative and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shy Jones, sister Laquana Jones, grandparents Anna and Glen Jones, Jr, cousin James Jones, uncle Harold Jones, great grandmother's Dorothy Tolbert and Deloris Jones. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Israelites Baptist Church, 2100 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., beginning at 10 am.
