Charles Dozier

Charles Dozier, known for his soul touching gospel solos, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Son of the late Zeke Smith and Mary Riley Dozier. Brother of Bryan and Darrell Dozier, Jacqueline D. Batiste, Cynthia D. Glenn, the late Ernest Dozier, Johnny and James Smith, Joycelyn D. White, Brenda D. Yarber and Robin D. Johnson. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends, also pastor, officers and members of Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, First Emanuel Baptist Church, First Shiloh Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches, all present and former members of The Gospel Soul Children, former employees of The 1984 Louisiana World’s Fair, employees of Woodward Design and Construction are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, 233 Hillary Street beginning 10 am. Rev. Lawrence L. Williams Jr., pastor, Rev. Antoine Jacobs, officiating. Church visitation 8:30 am until service time. Interment Green Street Cemetery.
