Carrie Lee Myers was born on March 25, 1941, and entered eternal rest at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sugarland, TX on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the age of 82. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Missouri City, TX since Hurricane Katrina. Carrie was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School Class of 1957. After graduating high school, Carrie worked as a Cosmetologist. She furthered her career by becoming one of the first PBX operators at Marriott Hotel on Canal Street where she worked for many years. She eventually retired as a Private Caregiver. She was the beloved mother of Huey (Giselle) Joseph of Fresno, TX and Terrence G. Brown of Pearland, TX. Grandmother of Tiffany (Kevin) Potter of New Orleans, La, Joshua (Leah) Joseph of Plano, TX, Jordan (Azunae) Joseph of Dallas, TX. Great Grandmother of Nala White &; Kai Potter of New Orleans and Alaina &; Grace Joseph of Dallas, TX. She was the beloved aunt of Antionette Desdunes and great aunt of Dominick Desdunes of New Orleans, La. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends survive her. Relatives and friends of the family, alumni of Joseph S. Clark High School, McDonogh #35 High School, and Dillard University, Pastors, officers, and members of Pentecost Baptist Church, Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church, Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, City of Love, Wheeler Avenue (Houston, TX) and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Abundant Life Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church, on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00a.m. Bishop Tyrone Jefferson, Jr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until the service at the above named church. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery – New Orleans, La.
