Alvin Johnson

Well done thy good and faithful servant! On Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, Alvin Jean Johnson transitioned from this earthly domain to the place God prepared for him. Alvin Jean Johnson was born on May 7th, 1948, in Wisner, Louisiana to the late George “Tuff" Johnson and Alberta Pierce Johnson, he was baptized at an early age at New Light Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend L M Major, he was the ninth of eleven children. Alvin was preceded in death by nine of his siblings: Bessie Mae Brown, Annie Mae Johnson, Viola Finister, A.W., George, Ernest, Dennis, A.J., Lannie and Roy Johnson. Alvin was a Saints and Pelicans fan he rarely missed a game on tv, he was a quiet storm. Alvin attended Wisner-Gilbert High School where he was a member of the basketball team and once chaired his high school reunion committee. He retired from New Orleans Airport Shuttle and Nabisco after many years of service. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife Carol, daughters: Kenisha, Syderia (Derrick), granddaughters: Kennedy, Syndee and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The Johnson and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family will celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Alvin Jean Johnson at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 4th Street Westwego, Louisiana 70094 on Saturday April 18th at 10am. Pastor Woodrow Hayden, officiating. Private burial. Visitation from 9am-10am.
